Direct Support Professional (DSP)- One Person Home

About the role

Life's New Beginning is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for one of our one-person residential homes. The DSP will provide direct care, teach daily living skills, and support individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized care and support
• Teach concepts of daily living and promote community involvement
• Support individuals in the community and during social, recreational, and leisure activities
• Mentor individuals to encourage and foster independence

Requirements

• Experience working with individuals with IDD exhibiting behaviors that may result in significant physical harm
• Trauma-informed care experience
• Mental health experience
• Health care experience is a plus
• Able to perform emergency physical safety interventions
• Must be 18 years or older
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid PA driver’s license
• 2 years driving experience
• Able to pass a background check
• Ability to read, speak, and write English
• Participate and successfully complete required training (CPR, First Aid, Med Administration, Safe Crisis Management)

Pay

Starting rates of $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
