About the role

Waystone is seeking a dedicated direct care worker to join our team and provide essential support and companionship to individuals who need help with daily activities in a residential home. Positions are available in Methuen, MA, with current openings for part-time roles that are not benefit eligible.

Responsibilities

• Aid individuals with daily living activities such as personal hygiene assistance, bathing, dressing, feeding, grooming, transferring, and meal preparation.
• Able and willing to assist with heavy lifting and driving wheelchair accessible company vans.
• Transport individuals to appointments, community events, or recreational activities.
• Complete Individual Support Plans (ISP) to support individuals in achieving personal goals and promoting independence.
• Document daily services provided and track behavioral data.
• Assist with medication administration and maintain accurate documentation, as required.
• Provide companionship, mentorship, and redirect behaviors.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive residential program.
• Uphold individual’s rights, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
• Maintain the program’s staff to resident ratio, manage finances, provide home management, and redirect behaviors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience in providing training, case management, and appropriate service delivery to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in the community.
• MAP (Medication Administration Program) Certification; training is offered by Waystone to acquire certification within 6 months of employment.
• CPR/First Aid; training is offered by Waystone to acquire certification within 3 months of employment.
• Valid Driver’s License in good standing with a minimum of one year of driving experience.

• Read, write, and comprehend English to accurately follow care plans, document services provided, and communicate effectively with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals.

Pay

The hourly rate is $21.63. You will be a union member to SEIU Local 509.
