About the role
Waystone is currently seeking a dedicated direct care worker to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of those we serve. This position provides essential support and companionship to individuals who need help with daily activities in a residential home.
Responsibilities
- Absorb and implement individual support plans (ISPs) to support individuals in achieving personal goals and promoting independence.
- Complete daily logs and notes, track behavioral data.
- Able and willing to assist with heavy lifting and driving wheelchair accessible company vans.
- Responsible for transporting individuals to appointments, community events, or recreational activities.
- Aid in medication administration and maintain accurate documentation, as required.
- Provide companionship, mentorship, and redirecting behaviors.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive residential program.
- Uphold individual’s rights, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
- Maintain the program’s staff to resident ratio, manage money, provide home management, and redirect behaviors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience in providing training, case management, and appropriate service delivery to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in the community.
- MAP (Medication Administration Program) Certification; training is offered by Waystone to acquire certification within 6 months of employment.
- CPR/First Aid; training is offered by Waystone to acquire certification within 3 months of employment.
- Valid Driver’s License in good standing with a minimum of one year of driving experience.

Pay
The hourly rate is $21.63. You will be a union member to SEIU Local 509.
Schedule
- Full Time: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday 3:00pm - 11:00pm & Sunday 9:00am - 5:00pm; Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday 3:00pm - 11:00pm
- Part Time: 25+ hours per week: Friday 3:00pm - 11:00pm, Saturday 9:00am - 8:00pm, Sunday 3:00pm - 9:00am; Monday 8:00am - 4:00pm, Tuesday - Friday 8:00am - 3:00pm
- Part Time less than 25 hours per week: Thursday & Saturday 3:00pm - 11:00pm & Sunday 9:00am - 5:00pm
