About the role
Waystone is currently seeking a dedicated direct care worker to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of those we serve. This position is part-time, offering 25+ hours per week, with current openings for Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00am - 11:00pm. The position is benefit eligible as of date of hire.
Responsibilities
- Aid individuals with daily living activities such as personal hygiene assistance, bathing, dressing, feeding, grooming, transferring, and meal preparation.
- Able and willing to assist with heavy lifting and driving wheelchair accessible company vans.
- Transport individuals to appointments, community events, or recreational activities.
- Complete Individual Support Plans (ISP) to support individuals in achieving personal goals and promoting independence.
- Document daily logs and notes, track behavioral data.
- Assist with medication administration and maintain accurate documentation, as required.
- Provide companionship, mentorship, and redirecting behaviors.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive residential program.
- Uphold individual’s rights, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
- Maintain the program’s staff to resident ratio, manage finances, provide home management, and redirect behaviors.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience in providing training, case management, and appropriate service delivery to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in the community.
- MAP (Medication Administration Program) Certification; training is offered by Waystone to acquire certification within 6 months of employment.
- CPR/First Aid; training is offered by Waystone to acquire certification within 3 months of employment.
- Valid Driver’s License in good standing with a minimum of one year of driving experience.

Pay
The hourly rate is $21.63. You will be a union member to SEIU Local 509.
Schedule
This position offers Saturday & Sunday shifts from 9:00am - 11:00pm.
Group Home Details
As a residential skills instructor or Awake Overnight staff, you will be assisting 4 individuals ranging from ages 22 and up, with their activities of daily living (ADL’s) such as - feeding, cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene assistance, documentation, and medication administration. You will also be responsible for transporting individuals to appointments and community activities during the overnight hours, conducting routine wellness checks, and providing personal care support, including toileting assistance and brief changes as needed.
