About the role

Waystone is currently seeking a dedicated direct care worker to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of those we serve. This position is available in a residential home setting in Amesbury, MA.

Responsibilities

  • Absorb and implement individual support plans (ISPs) to support individuals in achieving personal goals and promoting independence.
  • Complete daily logs and notes, track behavioral data.
  • Able and willing to assist with heavy lifting and driving wheelchair accessible company vans.
  • Responsible for transporting individuals to appointments, community events, or recreational activities.
  • Provide companionship, mentorship, and redirecting behaviors.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive residential program.
  • Uphold individual’s rights, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Maintain the program’s staff to resident ratio, manage finances, and redirect behaviors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Candidates must be able to read, write, and comprehend English to accurately follow care plans, document services provided, and communicate effectively with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Experience in providing training, case management, and appropriate service delivery to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in the community.
  • MAP (Medication Administration Program) Certification; training is offered by Waystone to acquire certification within 6 months of employment.
  • CPR/First Aid; training is offered by Waystone to acquire certification within 3 months of employment.
  • Valid Driver’s License in good standing with a minimum of one year of driving experience.

  • Knowledge of medication administration and record-keeping.

Pay

The hourly rate is $21.63. You will be a union member to SEIU Local 509.

Schedule

  • Full-Time: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday 3:00pm - 11:00pm
  • Part-Time: 25+ hours per week Saturday & Sunday 9:00am - 11:00pm
  • Part-Time: Less than 25 hours per week Saturday & Sunday 9:00am - 3:00p
