About the Role
Waystone is seeking a dedicated direct care worker to provide essential support and companionship to individuals who need help with daily activities in a residential home setting in Methuen, MA. As a Residential Skills Instructor or Awake Overnight staff, you will assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) and ensure their well-being.
Schedule
Full Time (40 hours per week, benefit eligible as of date of hire):
- Monday - Thursday 3:00pm - 11:00pm & Sunday 9:00am - 5:00pm (2 Openings)
- Monday - Thursday 11:00pm - 9:00am (2 Openings)
Part Time (25+ hours per week, benefit eligible as of date of hire):
- Wednesday - Thursday 11:00pm - 7:00am, Saturday 9:00am - 5:00pm, Sunday 11:00pm - 7:00am
- Monday 3:00pm - 9:00pm, Friday - Sunday 3:00pm - 11:00pm
- Friday - Sunday 11:00pm - 9:00am (2 Openings)
Part Time (less than 25 hours per week, not benefit eligible):
- Friday - Sunday 3:00pm - 11:00pm
- Tuesday 3:00pm - 9:00pm & Saturday 9:00am - 5:00pm
Pay
The hourly rate for these non-exempt full-time and part-time positions is $21.63. You will be a union member of SEIU Local 509.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities such as personal hygiene (toileting assistance/brief changing), bathing, dressing, feeding, grooming, transferring, and meal preparation.
- Assist with heavy lifting and driving wheelchair-accessible company vans.
- Transport individuals to appointments, community events, or recreational activities.
- Complete Individual Support Plans (ISP) to support individuals in achieving personal goals and promoting independence.
- Complete daily logs and notes, track behavioral data, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Assist with medication administration as required.
- Provide companionship, mentorship, and behavior redirection.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive residential environment.
- Uphold individuals' rights, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
- Maintain the program’s staff-to-resident ratio, manage finances, provide home management, and redirect behaviors.
- During overnight hours, remain alert and attentive, conduct routine wellness checks, and provide personal care support, including toileting assistance and brief changes.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English to follow care plans, document services, and communicate effectively with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Experience in providing training, case management, and appropriate service delivery to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- MAP (Medication Administration Program) Certification (training provided by Waystone within 6 months of employment).
- CPR/First Aid Certification (training provided by Waystone within 3 months of employment).
- Valid Driver’s License in good standing with a minimum of one year of driving experience.

About the Group Home
You will be assisting 5 individuals, ranging from ages 22 and up, with their activities of daily living (ADLs) such as feeding, cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene assistance, documentation, and medication administration. You will use a wheelchair van to transport individuals to appointments and community activities.
