Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Bay Ridge

Braverhood is seeking bilingual Spanish/English speaking part‑time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide support to individuals with disabilities in Brooklyn, both in the home and within the community. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about helping children and young adults with developmental disabilities, medical, and mental health challenges.

Responsibilities

• Foster a positive environment for individuals to achieve personal goals, including social interactions and activities of daily living.
• Work closely with Case Supervisors on monthly goals and action plans.
• Document services rendered and client progress on a daily and monthly basis.
• Provide support for individuals with various developmental disabilities in the home and within the community.
• Attend mandatory staff meetings and training once a year.
• Submit all paperwork and monthly summaries on time.
• Adhere to all agency and OPWDD regulations.

Qualifications

• Accountability and commitment are essential.
• Experience with the special‑needs community, preferably with children or young adults, including community integration and support of communication and social skills.
• Reliable transportation.
• Completion of an online DSP training course after hiring.
• Ability to arrive to work on time.
• Casual dress code—come as you are, but dress appropriately and respectfully.

Pay

$18 – $20 hourly.

Schedule

Primarily afternoons and/or weekends; part‑time position.
