About the Role

As a Residential Skills Instructor or Awake Overnight staff, you provide essential support and companionship to individuals who need help with daily activities in a residential home. You will assist 4 individuals ranging from ages 22 and up with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as feeding, cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene assistance, documentation, and medication administration. You will use a wheelchair van to transport individuals to appointments and community activities. During overnight hours, you will remain alert and attentive, conduct routine wellness checks, and provide personal care support, including toileting assistance and brief changes as needed.

Schedule

Current openings:

  • Part Time (25+ hours per week, benefit eligible as of date of hire):
    • Saturday 9:00am - 3:00pm, Sunday 9:00am - 11:00pm & Monday 3:00pm - 11:00pm
    • Saturday & Sunday 9:00am - 11:00pm
  • Part Time (less than 25 hours per week, not benefit eligible):
    • Saturday & Sunday 12:00pm - 5:00pm

Pay

The hourly rate is $21.63. These are non-exempt positions, and you will be a union member of SEIU Local 509.

Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with daily living activities such as personal hygiene assistance (toileting/brief changing), bathing, dressing, feeding, grooming, transferring, and meal preparation.
  • Able and willing to assist with heavy lifting and driving wheelchair-accessible company vans.
  • Transport individuals to appointments, community events, or recreational activities.
  • Complete Individual Support Plans (ISP) to support individuals in achieving personal goals and promoting independence.
  • Complete daily logs and notes, track behavioral data.
  • Assist with medication administration and maintain accurate documentation, as required.
  • Provide companionship, mentorship, and redirect behaviors.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive residential program.
  • Uphold individuals’ rights, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Maintain the program’s staff-to-resident ratio, manage finances, provide home management, and redirect behaviors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English to accurately follow care plans, document services, and communicate effectively with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Experience in providing training, case management, and appropriate service delivery to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in the community.
  • MAP (Medication Administration Program) Certification; training is offered by Waystone to acquire certification within 6 months of employment.
  • CPR/First Aid certification; training is offered by Waystone to acquire certification within 3 months of employment.
  • Valid Driver’s License in good standing with a minimum of one year of driving experience.
