Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Haverhill, MA - 145
Location: Haverhill, MA (Group home setting)
Current openings for a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, Thursday–Monday, 3:00 pm–11:00 pm. This position is benefit-eligible as of date of hire and includes union membership with SEIU Local 509.
Pay
The hourly rate is $21.63.
About the Role
As a Residential Skills Instructor or Awake Overnight staff, you will assist five individuals (ages 22 and up) with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as feeding, cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene, documentation, and medication administration. You will transport individuals to appointments and community activities using a wheelchair-accessible van. During overnight hours, you will remain alert, conduct routine wellness checks, and provide personal care support, including toileting assistance and brief changes.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene (toileting/brief changing), bathing, dressing, feeding, grooming, transferring, and meal preparation.
- Assist with heavy lifting and drive wheelchair-accessible company vans.
- Transport individuals to appointments, community events, or recreational activities.
- Complete Individual Support Plans (ISP) to support personal goals and promote independence.
- Complete daily logs, track behavioral data, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Administer medications and document as required.
- Provide companionship, mentorship, and behavior redirection.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive residential environment.
- Uphold individuals’ rights, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
- Maintain staff-to-resident ratios, manage finances, provide home management, and redirect behaviors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English to follow care plans, document services, and communicate effectively.
- Experience providing training, case management, or service delivery to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- MAP (Medication Administration Program) Certification (training provided within 6 months of employment).
- CPR/First Aid Certification (training provided within 3 months of employment).
- Valid driver’s license in good standing with at least one year of driving experience.
