About the role

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you support people with disabilities to live their best lives as independently as possible. You assist with activities of daily living such as household maintenance, transportation, administration of medications, grocery shopping, meal preparation, personal care, and more. While supporting people with disabilities, you build strong relationships while learning their individual differences in ability, personality, interests, learning, motivation, likes, and dislikes. This helps you to provide the best care. In this position, you find the work of supporting people with disabilities to live amazing lives according to their own needs and desires extremely rewarding!

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to lead self-directed, meaningful lives
• Assist with activities of daily living including household maintenance, transportation, and administration of medications
• Help with grocery shopping, meal preparation, and personal care
• Build strong relationships with individuals, understanding their unique abilities, personalities, and needs

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle during working hours
• Punctual and reliable
• Ability to keep track of multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Flexible and patient
• Respectful, discreet with confidential information, and honest
• Enjoy helping people

Pay

$17.55/hour plus an additional $1/hour shift differential

Schedule

This is a full-time 30 hours/week position with flexible hours:

• Monday, Tuesday, and Friday: 4pm-10pm
• Every other weekend: 8am-8pm
