Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver

About the role
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver, you will assist in a residential group home by helping people with disabilities achieve a variety of outcomes, assist with personal cares, and provide normalization/community integration. At some programs, you will offer support, guidance, and assistance to individuals with mental illness and interfering behaviors. You will enhance the quality of life for individuals with complex mental health and behavioral support needs, empowering them to live independently with dignity and respect.
Responsibilities
- Provide support and mentorship with daily activities to those we support in a manner that ensures their health and safety, including helping with meals, cleaning, housekeeping, laundry duties, and facilitating fun activities.
- Offer hands-on mentoring to help individuals become more independent.
- Provide positive direction to encourage individuals to achieve their personal goals.
- Administer medication and ensure the medical well-being of individuals.
Requirements
- Excitement for working with adults with disabilities.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Good communication skills for documenting care, following support plans, and collaborating with team members.
- Valid driver's license (required for transporting persons served).
- Successful background clearance as part of the onboarding/employment process.
- Comfortable driving company vehicles to transport persons served; some positions may require a personal vehicle and auto-liability insurance.

Pay
$17 - $19/hour (on weekends); $16/hour for non-drivers.
