About the role
The role of a Direct Support Professional (DSP) involves providing direct care support to adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism. Responsibilities include acting as a role model, administering medication, assisting with personal care, and encouraging independence.
Responsibilities
- Act as a role model for residents
- Administer medication as directed
- Assist with personal care tasks
- Inspire residents to be as independent as possible
- Attend and promote recreational and social outings
- Transport clients using New Communities company vehicles
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience in direct care, though not required (training provided)
- Effective communication skills with residents and coworkers

Pay
Pay rate is dependent on position, shift, certifications, and experience, ranging from $15.10 - $18.10/hr.
Schedule
Full-time, part-time, and flexible per diem or relief DSP direct care positions are available in the Madison area, including Skowhegan and Solon, Maine. Full-time positions are available in Skowhegan.
