About the Role
Waystone is seeking a dedicated direct care worker to provide essential support and companionship to individuals who need help with daily activities in a residential home setting in Andover, MA. Positions include Residential Skills Instructor or Awake Overnight staff.
Schedule
Part-time positions with 25+ hours per week. Schedules include:
- Monday & Friday 3:00pm - 9:00pm, Saturday 9:00am - 3:00pm, Sunday 9:00am - 9:00pm
- Monday - Friday 3:00pm - 9:00pm
This position is benefit eligible as of date of hire.
Pay
Non-exempt full-time/part-time positions with an hourly rate of $21.63. You will be a union member of SEIU Local 509.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities such as personal hygiene assistance (toileting/brief changing), bathing, dressing, feeding, grooming, transferring, and meal preparation.
- Assist with heavy lifting and driving wheelchair-accessible company vans.
- Transport individuals to appointments, community events, or recreational activities.
- Complete Individual Support Plans (ISP) to support individuals in achieving personal goals and promoting independence.
- Complete daily logs and notes, track behavioral data.
- Assist with medication administration and maintain accurate documentation.
- Provide companionship, mentorship, and redirect behaviors.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive residential program.
- Uphold individuals' rights, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
- Maintain the program’s staff-to-resident ratio, manage money, provide home management, and redirect behaviors.
- During overnight hours, remain alert and attentive, conduct routine wellness checks, and provide personal care support including toileting assistance and brief changes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English to accurately follow care plans, document services, and communicate effectively with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Experience in providing training, case management, and appropriate service delivery to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in the community.
- MAP (Medication Administration Program) Certification; training offered by Waystone to acquire certification within 6 months of employment.
- CPR/First Aid certification; training offered by Waystone to acquire certification within 3 months of employment.
- Valid Driver’s License in good standing with a minimum of one year of driving experience.

About the Group Home
You will be assisting 8 individuals, ranging from ages 22 and up, with their activities of daily living (ADLs) such as feeding, cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene assistance, documentation, and medication administration. You will use a wheelchair van to transport individuals to appointments and community activities.
