Direct Support Professional (Day Program)
About the role
Direct Support Professional (DSP) positions at Devereux are available in Newton, NJ. The role involves working with individuals in need, ensuring their safety and health, and assisting them in achieving daily living skills.
Responsibilities
- Ensure individuals are safe and healthy during day program activities.
- Supervise, coach, and assist individuals in developing daily living skills.
- Plan and implement community-based jobs, volunteer opportunities, and outings.
- Schedule and transport individuals to and from day program activities.
Requirements
- A minimum of a High School Diploma/GED.
- A valid non-provisional driver's license.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Attend ten days of paid onsite orientation on weekdays.
- Be empathetic and have a team approach to care.
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals in need.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and their families.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Pay
Starting at $20.42 and increases with education/experience.
