Direct Support Professional / Caregiver – Evening Shift

About the Role

New Point Life Services is hiring Evening Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) at our Hacienda home in Mathews, VA, a short drive from Gloucester. You'll help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities live safe, independent, connected lives. If you're caring and dependable, we'll teach you the rest.

Schedule

Two-week rotation that repeats, so you can plan ahead:

• Week 1: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri — 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM
• Week 2: Wed — 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM; Sat and Sun — 8:30 AM – 9:00 PM

Every other weekend off.

Responsibilities

• Support each person according to their Individual Support Plan (ISP) and Behavior Support Plan (BSP)
• Help with personal care, hygiene, dressing, and evening meals
• Drive individuals to community activities and appointments
• Plan and join recreational outings
• Give medications following agency policy (we train you)
• Do light housekeeping and laundry
• Complete electronic notes and reports

Qualifications

• Compassionate, patient, and reliable
• Comfortable with basic computer documentation
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and be on your feet during your shift
• Required: a valid driver's license and the ability to pass a background check

Nice to have (not required):

• High school diploma or GED
• 1 year of experience supporting people with disabilities
• An active Virginia CNA, NA, or PCA certification
