Direct Support Professional / Caregiver – Overnight Shift

About the Role

New Point Life Services is hiring Overnight Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) at our Villa home in Mathews, VA, a short drive from Gloucester. You'll keep the home safe and calm overnight for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, so everyone wakes up ready for a good day.

Schedule

Two-week rotation that repeats, so you can plan ahead:

• Week 1: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri — 12:00 AM – 9:00 AM
• Week 2: Wed — 12:00 AM – 9:00 AM; Sat and Sun — 8:30 PM – 9:00 AM

Every other weekend off.

Pay

$16–$21 per hour, based on experience and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight supervision and support based on each person's Individual Support Plan (ISP)
• Help with bedtime routines and personal care during the night
• Check on health and wellbeing, and respond to emergencies
• Give medications following agency policy and physician orders (we train you)
• Complete electronic progress notes and overnight reports
• Handle laundry and housekeeping during quiet hours, and get the home ready for the morning
• Report any health, behavior, or safety concerns to supervisors

Qualifications

• Reliable, punctual, and calm under pressure
• Comfortable working on your own overnight
• Comfortable with basic computer documentation
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and meet the physical needs of the job
• Required: a valid driver's license and the ability to pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 1 year of experience supporting people with disabilities
• Active Virginia CNA, NA, or PCA certification
