Direct Support Professional (Night Shift)

About the role

These positions are considered essential personnel and would be required to work in the event of an emergency or facility need. All SEVTC positions are required to work different shifts and/or overtime as requested.

Responsibilities

  • Aid individuals with daily living activities, personal care, and support for mobility.
  • Utilize behavior management strategies to support individuals exhibiting maladaptive behaviors.
  • Provide emotional and behavioral support while promoting independence.
  • Implement behavior intervention plans and work collaboratively with a support team.
  • Foster a safe, structured, and positive environment.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Dependable, accountable, and reliable.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to work with an integrated team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Active, valid driver’s license.
  • Basic computer skills to include the ability to use keyboard, mouse and navigate an Electronic Health Record with minimum assistance after training.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Successful completion of the facility’s Pre-Service training program, which includes CPR, First Aid, medication administration, nutritional management, and physical/behavioral management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with co-workers, Residential Supervisors and/or Supervisors, Administrator on Duty (after hour supervisors) and ID team members.

Qualifications

  • Passionate about helping others and making a positive impact in their lives.
  • Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and other disabilities.
  • Prior experience working with medically fragile individuals.
  • Prior experience as a Direct Support Professional, a Certified Nursing Assistant, or similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience working with electronic medical records.

Pay

Pay range: $38,630 - $44,424

Pay band: 3

Schedule

Shift Hours: 3rd shift: 10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.

Shift Differential: 3rd shift weekday $2.25/hr. weekend $3.00/hr.
