The Center for Family Support (CFS) is an agency committed to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental and related disabilities. About the role

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. You will be passionate about helping others, dedicated to protecting their rights, and willing to offer genuine friendship and support through various life stages.

Responsibilities

  • Help individuals develop meaningful lives by listening to their dreams and assisting them in learning new skills.
  • Engage with individuals to understand their interests, gifts, and plans, and involve them in activities that align with these interests.
  • Teach individuals how to form and maintain positive relationships within their communities.
  • Respect the rights of those we support and encourage them to advocate for themselves.
  • Apply the person-centered philosophy in all interactions and use every moment as an opportunity for learning and growth.
  • Show a positive attitude towards work and foster a supportive environment.
  • Ensure the health and safety of the individuals you support by administering medications, following doctor's orders, attending medical appointments, and reporting any potential dangers to your supervisor.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop the service plan and fulfill your responsibilities as outlined.
  • Provide appropriate levels of supervision based on the individual's service plan and report any potentially dangerous situations to your supervisor.
  • Report incidents and suspected abuse to the appropriate authorities and cooperate with agency and division staff during investigations and inspections.
  • Behave professionally and courteously towards all colleagues and clients.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A valid driver’s license, depending on program needs.
  • Experience in healthcare or human services is a plus.

Benefits

The Center for Family Support offers a competitive salary range of USD $18.43 - USD $18.43 per hour, reflecting the importance we place on the well-being and dignity of our clients.

Pay

USD $18.43 - USD $18.43 /Hr.

Schedule

Full-time and part-time positions are available.
