Essential Job Functions
- assist individuals to meet needs and develop an effective support relationship.
- provide person-centered support recognizing the rights of each individual and help them to live the life they choose.
- collaborate with families and support team members to help provide the best opportunities.
- support individuals with basic housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, washing dishes, laundry, and tidying.
- help plan appointments and organize individuals’ schedules.
- support the administration of medications as identified and if appropriately trained.
- assist individuals to shop for groceries, plan weekly meals, prepare meals and clean up after meal.
- help individuals arrange and participate in social, recreational, and other community activities based on their preferences and choices.
- complete successfully mandatory and other training opportunities, responsible for attending annual refresher/re-certification courses prior to certification expiration dates.
Safeguard Program Participants’ Safety and Wellbeing
- safeguard program participants’ safety and wellbeing at all times.
Skills
- proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Interact with Program Participants
- interact with program participants in an empathetic, respectful, and caring manner.
Ensure Compliance and Documentation
- ensure completion of required documentation and compliance with regulations and standards.
- ensure individual’s rights and choices are respected per the principles of Dignity of Risk.
