About the role
We are looking for a qualified Direct Support Professional to join our team. You will provide intense support with individuals that we serve in our homes and in the community.
Responsibilities
- Assist and support people with realizing their goals and attaining personal outcomes.
- Assist and support people with developing and/or maintaining a social support network.
- Assist and support people with maintaining or re-establishing their family connections.
- Assist and support people with maintaining their homes.
- Assist and support people with maintaining their health and well-being.
- Assist and support people with utilizing their community and its resources.
- Assist and support people with their direct services and making informed choices.
- Ensure that the environment in which people live and work is safe and free of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
- Be an advocate for people with disabilities educating the community on how to interact with individuals who have disabilities.
- Participation in educational opportunities offered by the company.
Requirements
- Experience in supporting people with disabilities.
- Valid Drivers License.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Auto insurance.
- Reliable Transportation.
Qualifications
- Reliable transportation is required as well as a valid/active driver's license.

Benefits
We offer a probation period of 90 days, based on your performance you may be eligible for a raise after evaluation.
Pay
Pay is based on experience, base pay is $10/hr.
Schedule
- 1st: 8 AM-4 PM
Specific duties and responsibilities
- PROGRAM SERVICES
- Maintain people and workplace confidentiality.
- Adhere to scheduled work hours.
- Notify supervisor of emergencies.
- Document health information continuously.
- Administer medications, schedule/appoint appointments, and understand instructions given by health care providers.
- Encourage healthy eating habits, follow dietary restrictions, and prepare meals set in place by dietician as needed.
General responsibilities
- Maintain people and workplace confidentiality.
- Abide by all Shine Light policies and procedures.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude when interacting with people, employees, and persons employed by Shine Light.
- Keep an open line of communication between co-workers, supervisors, and other necessary individuals.
