Direct Support Professional

About the role

At Easterseals PORT Health (ESPH), our mission is rooted in empowering individuals and strengthening communities. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll help people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) complete everyday living tasks and achieve their goals. This part‑time afternoon position is based in Colerain, NC and surrounding areas, with local community travel to provide care in the individual's home and community.

Responsibilities

• Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning
• Provide personal care including bathing, dressing, toiletry, and changing diapers
• Offer employment support
• Transport clients to appointments and run errands
• Help plan and organize the client’s schedule
• Complete daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health record (EHR) system

Requirements

• Entry‑level position; on‑the‑job training provided
• High school diploma or GED required
• Knowledge of basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols
• Proficiency with EHR systems or ability to learn
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance

Pay

Competitive hourly rate: $15/hour
