About the role
The Life Skills and Transition Center in Grafton North Dakota is hiring Direct Support Professionals. A sign-on bonus of $1,500 - $2,500 is available for qualifying new employees.
Responsibilities
- Connect with and assist persons residing at the Life Skills and Transition Center to complete daily living activities in order to be independent and transition to community providers.
- Avoid barriers that may be present in the individuals' lives by conveying information accurately, respectfully, and thoroughly verbally and in writing.
- Model effective communication and socialization interactions as well as teach self-advocacy and self-help strategies.
- Observe, monitor, document and report on the individuals’ condition and progress both orally and in writing to the team of the person served.
- Identify and help individuals set goals for learning and practicing new skills, and what is important for them.
- Assist with daily life activities such as personal hygiene tasks, work or job, recreation or leisure, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Requirements
- No experience required, onsite training provided.
- Work shifts include 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM and 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM and every other weekend. Night work shifts are 9:45 PM - 6:15 AM and two weekends on and one off. Hours may vary to meet department needs.
- Must successfully complete an approved training program within the probationary period.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED.
Skills
- Basic computer skills to log on and enter information into specific computer programs used.

Pay
Hiring range starts at $18.00 per hour depending on experience. Shift differential pay for some shifts is also available.
