Direct Support Professional

About the role

Help at Home is the nation’s leading provider of in-home support to seniors and people with disabilities, with 40+ years of history in a high-demand field. As a Direct Support Professional, you’ll work 1-on-1 with clients inside their homes, providing meaningful support and companionship.

Responsibilities

• In-Home Assistance – Help clients with day-to-day activities like preparing meals, cleaning, dressing, grooming, laundry, monitoring vital signs, bathing, toileting, technology and other basic activities
• Companionship – Join clients in playing games, arts and crafts, and accompany them to events outside the home like appointments, grocery shopping and running errands
• Community Building – Create a safe and positive living situation for clients by communicating with the family and other staff about any concerns or challenges

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license
• CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain prior to employment
• Access to insured and reliable transportation
• Recognition of the needs of others, and the ability to build relationships with people from different backgrounds
• Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to spend evenings and weekends caring for clients with dignity, patience, and compassion
• Dedication to professional development, including organizational and state-required training
• Must comply with state background screening requirements

Pay

Weekly pay starting at $17 an hour. Compensation, benefits, time off and bonuses vary by state and location.
