About the Role

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Easterseals PORT Health (ESPH), you’ll play a critical role in empowering individuals and strengthening communities by helping people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) complete everyday living tasks and achieve their goals. This is a part-time position with afternoon shifts, located in Buxton, NC and surrounding areas, involving local community travel. You will provide care in the individual’s home and community.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning.
  • Provide personal care including bathing, dressing, toiletry, and changing diapers.
  • Offer employment support and help plan and organize the individual’s schedule.
  • Transport clients to appointments and run errands.
  • Complete daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.

Pay

Competitive hourly rate: $15/hour.

Requirements

  • Experience: Entry-level; on-the-job training is provided.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Knowledge: Basic housekeeping, nutrition, and safety protocols.
  • Skills: Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability are a must.
  • Technology: Proficiency with EHR systems or ability to learn.
  • Transportation: Must have reliable transportation, a driver’s license, and current auto insurance.
