Direct Support Professional
About the Role
At Easterseals PORT Health (ESPH), our mission is rooted in empowering individuals and strengthening communities. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll play a critical role in carrying out that mission by helping people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) complete everyday living tasks and achieve their goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide care in the home of the individual and their community.
- Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning.
- Support personal care activities like bathing, dressing, toiletry, and changing diapers.
- Offer employment support and help plan/organize the individual's schedule.
- Transport clients to appointments and run errands.
- Maintain daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Basic knowledge of housekeeping, nutrition, and safety protocols.
- Proficiency with EHR systems or willingness to learn.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability.

Part-time afternoon/afterschool shifts with flexibility based on client needs and availability.

Zebulon, NC, and surrounding areas with local community travel.
