Direct Support Professional

About the role

Assist the Adult Day Manager in facilitating social and recreational activities for participants in the Easterseals-Goodwill Northern Rocky Mountain Adult Day Program, serve and respect clients, enhance quality of life, support caregiving families, maintain a safe environment, and document services.

Responsibilities

• Actively exhibit commitment to serve and respect clients through consistent behavior.
• Assist the Adult Day Manager in facilitating social and recreational activities that meet individual participant needs.
• Spend the majority of the workday actively involved with clients.
• Maintain a safe environment for clients and co‑workers.
• Complete accurate documentation of services provided.

Requirements

• Current driver’s license and clear driving record.
• Proof of vehicle insurance.
• Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Self‑motivated, flexible, enjoy challenges, and willing to work as part of a team.
• Reliable and dependable.
• Well‑groomed and pleasant with the public.
• Physical ability to perform job duties: lifting supplies/equipment, pushing wheelchairs, assisting with walkers/crutches/adaptive equipment, ensuring client safety during seizures/emergencies/transfers, assisting with restroom use, visual/auditory monitoring, physical support, bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, lifting, and guiding clients frequently; heavy lifting (>50 lb) occasionally with team or mechanical assist; moderate lifting frequently; ability to work indoors/outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must pass a DMV check.
• Must complete a background check (criminal convictions not an automatic bar).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 0‑2 years of experience.
• Experience working with the elderly or persons with physical disabilities preferred.
• Program development and implementation skills preferred.

Pay

$18.00 per hour.
