Direct Support Professional

About the role

BARC Developmental Services is a non-profit agency serving Bucks County, Pennsylvania individuals with disabilities and families since 1951. We are currently hiring for direct support professionals in the Quakertown area.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with intellectual disabilities in meeting their needs in daily tasks, including personal hygiene and direct care
• Work with supported individuals in residential homes
• Act as role models and provide assistance through home care
• Implement individuals' support plans
• Ensure program safety, follow support plans, and complete required documentation

Schedule

• Hours vary daily or 3pm–11pm with alternating weekends
• Full-time position, 40 hours per week

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Must be at least 21 years old to be eligible for driving position
• Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years with an acceptable driving record according to agency policy
• Some previous experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities is helpful
• Good communication skills and computer experience
• Background checks are conducted on all applicants
