Position Overview As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will provide one-on-one support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings. This is a part-time role with flexible scheduling, ideal for someone who is compassionate, reliable, and eager to help others live more independently. Job Type: Part-timePay: $16.00 per hourLocation: Bowie, MDSchedule: Monday - Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. What You’ll Do Provide direct care and support to individuals in their homes and in the communityAssist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, light household tasks, and basic academic or skill-building supportEncourage social engagement and community integration by supporting clients in activities such as shopping, going to the park, attending events, or participating in hobbiesFollow and implement individualized support plans and goals tailored to each person’s needsMaintain accurate documentation of daily activities, progress notes, and any incidents, including seizures or other health-related events Qualifications Required: High school diploma or equivalent (GED)Must be 18 years of age or olderAbility to successfully pass a background checkReliable transportation to travel to client homes and community activitiesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsFlexibility and the ability to adapt to diverse needs and preferencesWillingness to assist with personal care and follow detailed support plans Preferred (not required – we provide training): Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilitiesAdditional education or training in human services or a related field If you are compassionate, patient, and dependable, we will provide the training and ongoing support you need to succeed in this role.
