Direct Support Professional

About the role

AHL HealthCare Group is seeking extraordinary, kind, and compassionate people to act as advocates, supporters, educators, and caregivers to individuals with disabilities or mental illness as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). We believe in our clients’ right to live in the least-restrictive environment and lead fulfilled lives in our homes while remaining safe and well-cared-for. Our homes are 4-bedroom residential settings in Two Harbors, Duluth, Hermantown, and Saginaw, MN.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal cares, activities of daily living, grooming, cooking, cleaning, and laundry
• Demonstrate positive and supportive behavior with clients and coworkers
• Administer medication
• Document services provided daily in the electronic records and computer system
• Socialize with residents and facilitate activities with them
• Accompany clients to appointments

Requirements

• Must be 16 years or older
• Ability to pass a MN DHS background study
• Every-other-weekend availability required
• Driver’s license preferred but not required (non-drivers earn $0.50/hour less)

Pay

$17.50 – $18.00/hour depending on driving status
