About the role

MSS is hiring for a Direct Support Professional to join our team in Dakota County. This role is a great fit for anyone interested in starting or growing a career in disability services, human services, or social services. Our Apple Valley Center is conveniently located off Pilot Knob Road and easily accessible from Rosemount, Burnsville, and Farmington.

As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide creative and engaging activities for the people in our programs. Our Apple Valley Center offers a variety of unique spaces and programming options to meet the individual needs of everyone who attends.

Schedule

Reliable weekday hours. MSS Centers are open 7:30am – 4:00pm, Monday – Friday. This is a full-time position with no evenings or weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Support adults with disabilities on weekdays as part of a close-knit team.
  • Assist with personal care, including day-to-day activities like eating, taking medicine, and going to the bathroom.
  • Lead fun and rewarding activities, such as helping people learn job skills, plant a garden, make art, or visit interesting places.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and friendly community for both clients and employees.

Requirements

  • You’re caring, patient, and encouraging around people who have different needs.
  • You value helping others and want your work to be meaningful and fulfilling.
  • You’re dependable, clear-headed, and serious about keeping people safe.
  • You have a valid driver’s license and a good recent driving record.
  • You don’t mind going through a background check.

Pay

This job pays $19.25-$19.75 per hour to start, with regular raises. Wage rates are based on related experience in the field.
