Direct Hire- Knits Bottoms Designer- Onsite- Los Angeles

About the role

We are partnering with a wholesale fashion company that specializes in private label and branded junior and missy apparel, with a strong focus on knit and woven bottoms. In this role, you will primarily design knit bottoms while also creating related separates and tops.

Responsibilities

• Design knit bottoms as the core category, along with related knit tops and separates.
• Research trends, colors, fabrics, washes, trims, and silhouettes relevant to the customer and market.
• Create seasonal design concepts, sketches, presentation boards, and line assortments.
• Develop detailed tech packs and communicate product specifications clearly to overseas partners.
• Partner closely with development, production, and merchandising throughout the product lifecycle.
• Be heavily involved in fittings, reviewing samples, identifying fit issues, and providing clear corrections.
• Travel to China to work directly with factories and support product development and production.

Requirements

• Experience designing knit apparel, with strong bottoms experience preferred.
• Background in junior and/or missy contemporary or value-driven fashion.
• Strong technical knowledge, including tech pack development, garment construction, and fit.
• Comfortable working directly with overseas factories and vendors.
• Organized, hands-on, and able to work well in a small team environment.
• Willing and able to travel internationally to China.
