About the role
Join RTR and help individuals with developmental disabilities live independently and thrive in a residential setting. You’ll work alongside a supportive team to provide hands-on care, skill-building, and everyday support.
Responsibilities
- Support individuals with daily living skills like cooking, hygiene, and routines
- Provide hands-on personal care and mobility assistance
- Help coordinate and attend medical appointments and community activities
- Implement individualized support and behavioral plans
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment
- Provide transportation as needed
- Complete documentation and progress reports
- Collaborate with team members, families, and care providers
- Act as a positive, consistent role model
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and the internet
- Successful completion and maintenance of all state and agency mandated trainings, including medication administration
- Must be willing to authorize a Criminal History Background Check (CORI) and release of information concerning allegations from Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC), Department of Developmental Services (DDS), and other agencies
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
Qualifications
- Fluent in English
- Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
- Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Able to communicate effectively with individuals under supervision, employees of the organization, families, and members of the community
- Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
Skills
- Physical demands: Stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk and hear, lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 60 pounds
- Reasoning ability: Carry out detailed written or oral instructions
