About the role

Join RTR and help individuals with developmental disabilities live independently and thrive in a residential setting. You’ll work alongside a supportive team to provide hands-on care, skill-building, and everyday support.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with daily living skills like cooking, hygiene, and routines
• Provide hands-on personal care and mobility assistance
• Help coordinate and attend medical appointments and community activities
• Implement individualized support and behavioral plans
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment
• Provide transportation as needed
• Complete documentation and progress reports
• Collaborate with team members, families, and care providers
• Act as a positive, consistent role model

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver’s License
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and the internet
• Successful completion and maintenance of all state and agency mandated trainings, including medication administration
• Must be willing to authorize a Criminal History Background Check (CORI) and release of information concerning allegations from Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC), Department of Developmental Services (DDS), and other agencies
• Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

Qualifications

• Fluent in English
• Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
• Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Able to communicate effectively with individuals under supervision, employees of the organization, families, and members of the community
• Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions

• Physical demands: Stand, walk, sit, use fingers, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk and hear, lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift up to 60 pounds, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
