About the role
This position is located in Greenfield, Indiana and offers a competitive hourly wage starting at $21.00 for the 1st shift, $22.00 for the 2nd shift, and $23.00 for the 3rd shift. Training for all shifts takes place on the 1st shift, which runs from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. After training, employees can choose between the 2nd shift (2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.) and the 3rd shift (10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.).
Responsibilities
- Perform routine set-up and changeover of machines, adjusting as needed to process operations accordingly.
- Run orders per product specifications and standard practices.
- Sort, label, and package products per customer specifications, quality requirements, and standard practices.
- Understand and implement quality standards and procedures.
- Meet production schedules and program production sequences for optimal productivity.
- Follow standard operating procedures and specifications or instructions of higher-level technical personnel and monitor meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications.
- Maintain production records and logs of equipment and product performance.
- Maintain work area with necessary supplies to complete processes- 4S+ standard work.
- Operate heavy equipment necessary to move, load, and ship material and/or finished products throughout the manufacturing environment.
- Support inventory accuracy by completing cycle counts and correct discrepancies to achieve business goals.
- Aid and support other team members in meeting department and site goals.
- Contribute and participate in team decision making processes including problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
- Provide support in project work and other special requests.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Requirements
- Six months of related experience and/or training, one-year certificate from a college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Machine aptitude (preferred).
- Trouble shooting experience (preferred).
- Good communication.
- Organization and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work as a team.
- Ability to lift container up to 25 lbs (repetitively) to 100 lbs (occasionally).
- Ability to stand for extended periods, use of hands, walk, bend, and/or twist.
- Ability to work 12+ hours (including Saturdays and Sundays).
Qualifications
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Physical demand to reason ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
