Position Summary
The Dining Services Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Dining Services Department, ensuring high-quality food service, operational efficiency, and compliance with all applicable regulations and company standards. This role provides direct supervision and support to dining services staff while fostering a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming dining environment for clients, visitors, and employees.
Essential Responsibilities
- Oversee daily dining services operations to ensure quality food preparation, service excellence, and regulatory compliance.
- Supervise dining services staff, including scheduling, training, coaching, performance management, and professional development.
- Ensure meals are prepared and served according to approved menus, dietary requirements, food safety standards, and sanitation guidelines.
- Collaborate with facility leadership and clinical nutrition services to support client nutritional needs and departmental goals.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with purchasing, and support cost-effective use of departmental resources.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits to ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, infection control, workplace safety, licensing, and accreditation standards.
- Monitor departmental performance and support quality improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness and client satisfaction.
- Address and resolve concerns from clients, visitors, and employees in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain confidentiality of all company and client information.
Qualifications
- Experience in food service, culinary services, or dining operations within a healthcare facility, restaurant, school, or similar environment required.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- ServSafe Certification required or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
