Compensation
$20.00-22.00 per hour based on years of experience.
Shift
M-F with every other weekend
11am-7:00pm
About the Role
Maintains excellent relationships with the residents, resident family members, guests, peers and management.
Works with the Chef and Director of Dining Services in suggesting nutritious and top quality food for residents and guests.
Implements and maintains new culinary and service programs in conjunction with the culinary team.
Trains and maintains a high standard for dining room and other food service venues.
Manages with a “can do” attitude adhering to our service vision of “Exceptional Care. World Class Hospitality” and to our Core Standards of C.A.R.E. (Courtesy, Attention to Detail, Responsiveness and Enthusiasm).
Responsibilities
- Seats and greets residents, addresses concerns, and ensures their needs are met during meal times.
- Responds to and resolves resident or guest complaints regarding their dining experience.
- Schedules and assigns tasks to servers, including assigning tables and side and closing duties.
- Directs and monitors servers, baristas, and café attendants, ensuring proper food handling techniques and uniforms.
- Trains servers, baristas, and café attendants on operating procedures and menu education.
- Ensures correct setup of floor charts and tables.
- Assists servers by performing tasks like pouring coffee and water.
- Assists with processing invoices and inventories, checking menus for accuracy, and overseeing guest meal charges.
- Hires, terminates, and coaches dining staff, completing HR paperwork for hiring, performance reviews, and terminations.
- Supervises department payroll and prepares for special events.
- Oversees all activity in dining venues, practices safety and loss prevention, and maintains appearance and hygiene standards.
- Attends in-services and conducts annual service reviews.
- Orders soda products for café and barista, and meets with new residents to review dining procedures/menus.
- Handles alcohol ordering and inventory, and assists with special events and catering.
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- College degree in Hospitality-related field preferred.
- Two (2) to four (4) years of food service experience required.
- CCRC dining experience required.
- Resort and/or country club experience plus.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Multi-point of service experience plus to manage retail, event, and dining room service.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Flexible availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
