Dining Room Captain

Overview Department Overview Enterprise Support Services function is to provide complete operations and maintenance service support so that our physical facilities (buildings, equipment, machinery, systems and grounds) may operate at an optimum. Optimization of our facilities will promote and ensure safe, clean, and compatible working conditions for employees. Enterprise Support Services activities include building maintenance and repair, office space planning and associated move coordination, leasing administration (building/property), construction project management and Physical Security. This area also assists with corporate office moves, reconfiguration projects for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama and affiliate companies. Primary Responsibilities The Dining Room Captain serves as the head of the floor service team and ensures a high standard of customer service, professionalism, and hospitality The incumbent is required to work service shifts as well as lead the development and training of the service team.The incumbent will uphold the policies, standards of service, order and cleanliness of the Dining Room. The incumbent is expected to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and service excellence. Summary Of Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalentFive (5) years of high-end restaurant serving experienceServSafe CertificationExperience in a front-of-house supervisory role Strong communication skillsGenuine interest and passion for service, food and spiritsWillingness to perform the physical requirements of the job, work effectively in environment typical of this positionExperience in a position requiring adaptabilityExperience leading others, working collaboratively as part of a team, and bringing creativity and positive energy to a front-of-house environmentWorking knowledge of basic computer functions to assist with party booking, menu typing and dining room orderingWillingness to lift up to 25 poundsWillingness to stand and walk for extended periodsProfessional appearance and adherence to uniform and grooming standardsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage confidently with senior leadersBachelor’s Degree preferred Work Location The work schedule for this position will be full-time onsite.
