Primary Responsibility
The Dining Attendants at Penick Village are responsible for delivering a dining experience that exceeds expectations of residents and guests by providing excellent customer service through dining room waiter service and line service. They greet guests as they enter the dining room, make coffee and tea, take telephone calls for residents ordering meals, clear dirty dishes, reset tables, stock condiments, vacuum the dining room floor, serve meals, respond to guest inquiries, collaborate with kitchen staff and management, and assist with healthcare tasks.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Village House
- Greet guests as they enter the dining room.
- Make coffee and tea.
- Take telephone calls for residents ordering meals.
- Clear away dirty dishes for residents; for example, during meals, clearing away dinner plate(s) before resident has dessert.
- Reset tables completely after each meal.
- Restock condiment at each table, including sugar, Sweet-n-Low, Equal, salt and pepper, and vinegar and oil.
- Vacuum the dining room floor.
- Serve residents' meals in a professional and timely manner.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth dining operations.
- Healthcare - Terrace Building
- Making coffee and tea.
- Taking telephone calls for residents ordering meals.
- Pouring coffee, hot water and ice water for tray line.
- Stocking tray line and front-line refrigerator with proper juices, milks and condiments necessary to run tray line or serve to residents.
- Working each of the three tray line positions, serving either hot food, putting on cold foods and condiments, or checking trays for accuracy.
- Knowing the different diets used at Penick Village, as to differentiate on the tray line and be sure each resident receives the proper foods.
- Honoring resident requests and preferences following tray cards and selecting menus when working on the tray line.
- Keeping the front condiment table filled with condiments, fruit, crackers, mints, etc.
- Setting up the front line for meal service; includes pouring drinks, icing up cold bar and filling with fruits, cereals, desserts or salads, whichever items are necessary for each meal.
- Answering calls from Nursing concerning any patient trays or missing items and responding immediately, providing necessary items.
- Serving residents who are unable to go through the serving line, carrying any trays, pouring coffee, getting any extra items for residents.
- Clearing away dirty dishes for residents; for example, during meals, clearing away dinner plate(s) before resident has dessert.
- Changing tablecloths and resetting tables completely after each meal.
- Restocking condiment at each table, including sugar, Sweet-n-Low, Equal, salt and pepper, and vinegar and oil.
- Vacuuming the dining room floor.
