Dining Ambassador, Valley Dining, Full Time, Day

Position Summary

To enter patient selections in the hand-held computer in compliance with patient diet orders; assist patients in selecting their meals whenever possible; to explain basic diet information to patients and their family members; to act as a liaison between patients and the Department of Food & Nutrition ensuring that they receive the highest level of customer service.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• One year previous experience as a Dietary Aide in a hospital food service or related healthcare setting

Special Skills

• Ability to read, write and speak English including ability to read relatively small type on a computer screen
• Good communication skills
• Ability to pay attention to details while changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure
• Must be comfortable speaking and interacting with patients and family members
• Desire and ability to focus on customer service
• Ability to learn and retain basic diet information

$19.81 - $24.76 (per hour)
