Dining Ambassador, Valley Dining, Per Diem, Day

About the Role

To enter patient selections in the hand-held computer in compliance with patient diet orders; assist patients in selecting their meals whenever possible; explain basic diet information to patients and their family members; act as a liaison between patients and the Department of Food & Nutrition ensuring the highest level of customer service. Perform basic computer functions related to the CBORD Diet Office System, provide tray delivery and nourishments to patients, stock food supplies for nursing units pantries, and handle all meal service issues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer skills
• One year previous experience as a Dietary Aide in a hospital food service or related healthcare setting

Skills

• Ability to read, write, and speak English, including reading small type on a computer screen
• Good communication skills
• Ability to multitask and pay attention to details without loss of efficiency or composure
• Comfortable speaking and interacting with patients and family members
• Focus on customer service
• Ability to learn and retain basic diet information

Pay

Pay Range: $19.81 - $24.76 per hour
