Digital Systems Graduate Research Assistant - Fall 2026 - SEAL
Job Description
The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is seeking a graduate student to join the Sensor Systems Engineering Division within the Sensors and Electromagnetic Applications Laboratory (SEAL) starting Fall 2026. The student will assist Research Engineers in various system engineering tasks.
Job Duties
- Assist in Digital signal processing design and simulation with MATLAB
- Support Digital system implementation with VHDL and FPGA hardware
- Contribute to Testing and characterization of Digital, Analog, and RF and components and systems
- Develop and execute automated test scripts in NI LabVIEW
- Analyze measured test data
- Assemble and wire custom modules and chassis
- Generate schematics and PCB layout
- Develop C/C++ code
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate Research Assistant pursuing a Master’s degree or PhD at Georgia Tech in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- Enrolled full-time (12+ credit hours)
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Commitment to 13-20 hours of work per week
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in 1 or more programming languages
- Task / team leadership experience
- Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts
- Familiarity with Linux and open source tools
- Configuration management tools
- Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas

U.S. Citizenship Requirements
Due to research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens. Clearance Type Required: Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
