POSITION SUMMARY: The Digital Strategy & Engagement Manager plays a vital role in Northwest Harvest's mission to end hunger in Washington through strategic digital storytelling and data-driven content strategies. This position drives brand recognition, relationship building, and community engagement across our digital channels in support of fundraising, advocacy, and partnership development. Through ethical storytelling practices and measurable digital strategies, this role helps achieve our goal of cutting hunger in half by 2028.The position leads comprehensive digital marketing strategies, oversees all social media, email marketing, and website content, and ensures communication aligns with both our strategic goals and organizational commitment to advancing systemic change. This role puts into practice our six agreements and PACI Values while amplifying community voices and driving meaningful engagement.RESPONSIBILITIES:Digital Strategy & Ecosystem LeadershipLead the development and execution of integrated digital strategies that advance our mission across social media, email, and web platformsDefine and manage cross-platform editorial direction and content frameworks, with measurable goals aligned to organizational objectivesDrive data-informed decision-making, translating analytics and audience insights into strategic adjustments across channelsDesign and lead content testing and optimization strategies to improve engagement, conversion, and impactShape compelling digital narratives and audience engagement approaches that deepen understanding of hunger’s root causesEstablish success metrics, reporting frameworks, and performance insights to demonstrate mission advancement and inform organizational decision-makingEnsure alignment and integration across digital channels, campaigns, and constituent journeys, in partnership with Communications, Advancement, and other teamsServe as a strategic partner in aligning digital engagement approaches with organizational priorities and supporting systems (e.g., Customer Relationship Management (CRM), email, web), in collaboration with cross-functional teamsExecution, Operations, and EnablementDetermine resourcing model (in-house vs contractor vs agency) for content and productionOversee daily and weekly content development and channel managementMaintain digital asset library and ensure consistent brand voice across platformsLead cross-platform campaigns from conception to evaluationCoordinate with teams across the organization to align messaging and maximize impactManage content workflow and team assignmentsImplement effective project management systemsEmail:Lead email marketing strategy and content developmentManage audience segmentation and CRM integrationDefine role of email within broader constituent journey strategy, including lifecycle and engagement pathwaysOptimize deliverability and engagement metricsImplement A/B testing and performance analysisDevelop targeted nurture campaigns Social Media:Establish channel roles and audience strategies aligned to organizational goalsDirect platform-specific content development and community buildingManage paid and organic growth initiativesCreate dynamic and engaging multi-media digital contentOversee content calendar, approval processes, and schedulingBuild and maintain influencer relationshipsMonitor trends and implement emerging best practicesWebsite:Own website as a strategic platform, including information architecture and conversion strategyDirect regular website maintenance and capital upgradesLead copywriting, graphics development, photo editing, and other website tasks as neededCoordinate with external web development partners on technical updates and new projectsLead Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and analytics trackingDevelop and maintain impact dashboardsEnsure integration with other digital channels General:Represent Northwest Harvest's mission and values in community interactionsStay current with organizational priorities and initiativesParticipate in cross-functional projects as neededPerform other duties as assigned by the Director of Communications. Collaborate across divisions to support digital communications needs and strategic objectives. Advise organizational leadership on digital opportunities, risks, and trends.External: Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, community partners, and digital audiences. Ensure timely and professional interaction with social media communities, email subscribers, and website visitors.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A combination of real-life experience, education, and training that provides an equivalent background to perform the work of this position. Training in digital marketing and analytics valuedOngoing professional development in digital communications valuedDiversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) and community-centered communications training appreciatedEXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 – 5+ years of demonstrated experience developing and executing integrated digital strategies, campaigns, and platforms for political campaigns, progressive issue advocacy, or nonprofit mission-driven organizations. Experience working cross-functionally with technical teams (CRM, web, data).
