Digital Specialist - Emerging Technologies

Location: Richmond, VA • Duration: 6 months

Responsibilities

• Work and collaborate with users, engineering, and support teams to set up and maintain workflows.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies with the Production Data Analyst.
• Train new and existing users on system utilization.
• Partner with IT to ensure system configuration and uptime.
• Implement methodologies and processes for reporting performance metrics.
• Collaborate with users, engineering, IT, and MES vendor to improve operational performance.
• Guide users in defining requirements for added features, problem resolution, and proper application use.
• Develop and implement process improvements by actively participating on cross-functional teams.
• Identify opportunities to optimize, integrate isolated systems, or automate existing processes for efficiency.
• Participate in short- and long-term projects to implement process improvements and efficiencies.
• Work with MES vendor on updates, upgrades, and new tool configuration.
• Perform testing to ensure developmental needs meet functional requirements.
• Formulate and maintain MES procedures and documentation.
• Stay abreast of current information and developments concerning MES.

Requirements

• 2-year technology degree or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• 1-2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Line of business experience preferred.
• Programming background.
• Able to work with people at different levels.
• Self-managed with the ability to handle multiple projects.
• Some IT background (infrastructure preferred; software not necessary).
• Demonstrated grit—ability to push initiatives forward and make things happen in a challenging environment.
• Familiarity with applications such as Windows OS, SAP, or shopfloor management systems is a plus but not required.
