Digital Product Owner
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Digital Product Owner to support a large-scale financial services organization focused on enhancing customer-facing digital experiences. This individual will partner closely with business stakeholders, UX teams, and IT organizations to drive the delivery of digital products.
The ideal candidate brings experience translating business needs into actionable product requirements and has worked across both front-end digital experiences and back-end technology implementations within a large enterprise environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and delivery teams to gather, analyze, document, and communicate product requirements.
- Own and prioritize product backlogs, user stories, features, and epics to ensure alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
- Partner with business leaders, subject matter experts, UX teams, designers, developers, and testers throughout the product lifecycle.
- Translate digital product designs and business concepts into production-ready requirements for IT delivery teams.
- Lead requirements gathering sessions and facilitate discussions to define business processes, success metrics, risks, and controls.
- Make day-to-day product decisions and provide ongoing business guidance to Agile delivery teams.
- Review and accept completed work against defined acceptance criteria.
- Work across Agile and Waterfall environments as needed to support delivery objectives.
- Identify, escalate, and help mitigate business and operational risks.
- Mentor and support less experienced Product Owners and team members when appropriate.
Requirements
- 8–10 years of experience in Product Ownership, Product Management, Business Analysis, or a related discipline within an enterprise environment.
- Experience supporting digital products, customer-facing websites, digital sales platforms, landing pages, or online experiences.
- Strong experience writing and managing user stories, features, epics, acceptance criteria, and product backlogs.
- Demonstrated ability to manage both front-end customer experience requirements and back-end technical requirements.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Insurance industry experience.
- Experience with system migrations or modernization efforts.
- Familiarity with cloud-based environments, including AWS.
- Digital transformation program experience.
- SaaS product experience.
- Prior experience working with the Digital Sales team on auto-related product and page updates.
