HTC Global Services’ Digital Product Optimization team is a shared-services Center of Excellence that enables A/B testing and experimentation across a large consumer-facing digital organization. The team provides education, consultation, strategy, and delivery services for experiments, partnering with product teams across a portfolio of high-traffic websites and mobile applications.
About the role
The Experimentation Strategy Lead serves as the subject-matter expert at the intersection of product management, design, engineering, and analytics. This role partners with approximately 10–12 product teams, guiding ideas through discovery and planning to become well-defined, trustworthy experiments ready for delivery.
Responsibilities
- Engage and educate product teams that are new to experimentation and build confidence in the practice.
- Consult with product teams to develop experimentation roadmaps that support and strengthen product roadmaps.
- Evaluate incoming test requests for technical, statistical, and strategic feasibility in collaboration with analytics and engineering partners.
- Facilitate strategic refinement of experiments by sharpening hypotheses, validating measurement approaches, and confirming design assets are aligned and delivered.
- Build consensus across cross-functional partners and constructively challenge proposals when stronger test designs exist.
- Guide approximately a dozen concurrent experiments through the planning phase and hand them off for execution.
- Lead recurring cross-functional working sessions alongside product partner meetings to maintain progress.
- Contribute to education and enablement materials, including playbooks, curriculum, and workshops.
- Translate complex analytical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for product managers who are not analytics specialists.
Requirements
- Three to five years or more of focused experimentation experience as a dedicated specialist or in a product role where A/B testing was practiced rigorously, supported by a broader professional background.
- Strong data acumen with a solid understanding of experimental design, sample sizing, statistical significance, test validity, and the ability to explain these concepts to non-specialists.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail and a conscientious approach to partner communication.
- Demonstrated ability to build consensus, influence without authority, and bridge gaps between teams with differing perspectives.
- Experience with consumer-facing (B2C) digital products that have meaningful traffic volume.
- Experience working in a shared services or internal consulting model while managing a portfolio of stakeholders.
- Availability to work consistently within US Eastern or US Pacific business hours.
