Digital Marketing Specialist
About the Role
Strike Marketing is an industry-leading marketing and advertising agency based in Houston's historic Heights neighborhood. Our clients range from premier global brands like Cirque du Soleil to top local brands like the Houston Zoo. We are looking for a Digital Marketing Specialist to join our digital marketing department. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role for someone who is comfortable working directly inside paid media platforms, moving quickly between multiple clients, and supporting the day-to-day needs of active digital campaigns. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys building campaigns, checking details, troubleshooting issues, monitoring performance, and working closely with other team members to keep campaigns moving. You should be comfortable taking direction, asking smart questions when details are missing, and staying organized while juggling multiple deadlines. We're searching for an organized self-starter who is versatile and can work within multiple digital platforms. This is not primarily a high-level strategy or vendor-management role. While strategic thinking is important, day-to-day success in this position depends on accurate campaign execution, strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to keep pace in a small agency environment.
Specific Duties
- Build, implement, and maintain paid digital campaigns across platforms such as Meta, Google, TikTok, and other digital advertising platforms.
- Support campaigns for clients across industries including entertainment, attractions, arts, sports, healthcare, and other consumer-facing categories.
- Work closely with Digital Account Managers to turn campaign briefs, media plans, creative assets, budgets, and timelines into live campaigns.
- Review campaign materials before launch, including creative, copy, links, UTMs, targeting, budgets, flight dates, placements, and conversion settings.
- Monitor active campaigns for delivery, pacing, performance issues, and optimization opportunities.
- Assist with campaign optimizations based on performance trends, platform learnings, and insights from the clients.
- Help identify campaign issues such as low delivery, tracking discrepancies, poor lead quality, pacing concerns, or missing launch materials.
- Develop reporting and analytics deliverables by pulling campaign data, reviewing performance trends, drafting clear insights, and refining recommendations with direction and feedback from management.
- Use agency tools to build reports, improve reporting workflows, and help the team create more efficient ways to turn campaign data into insights.
- Help manage and improve digital department tools and processes, including exploring AI agents and software features that can improve day-to-day efficiency, reporting, insights, and task management.
- Maintain organized documentation, naming conventions, QA notes, and campaign updates.
- Communicate clearly with internal team members about campaign status, missing needs, risks, and next steps.
- Collaborate with agency staff across departments to ensure campaigns launch accurately and on time.
- Complete other digital department tasks as assigned.
What Success Looks Like
A successful Digital Marketing Specialist at Strike is someone who can:
- Personally build and edit campaigns inside paid media platforms.
- Catch details before they become launch or performance issues.
- Manage several campaign tasks across multiple clients at once.
- Take ownership of reporting drafts, performance summaries, and initial insights.
- Use reporting platforms and digital tools to make recurring work more efficient.
- Think critically about campaign performance and translate data into clear next steps.
- Ask clear questions when information is incomplete, while also being resourceful enough to investigate basic issues independently first.
- Troubleshoot common platform, pacing, tracking, and performance issues.
- Communicate updates in a clear, timely, and professional way.
- Take feedback well and apply it quickly.
- Balance speed with accuracy.
- Stay calm and organized when priorities shift.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- 2–4+ years of hands-on digital marketing or paid media experience.
- Direct experience building, launching, monitoring, and optimizing campaigns in Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, TikTok Ads Manager, or other paid digital platforms.
- Strong understanding of paid media campaign structure, including objectives, audiences, budgets, placements, creative assets, tracking, and optimization.
- Ability to review campaign data and identify basic performance trends, issues, and opportunities.
- Strong attention to detail and comfort following detailed launch instructions.
- Strong resourcefulness and problem-solving skills, including the ability to research, troubleshoot, and attempt to solve basic issues before escalating.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and switch between client needs throughout the day.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to support the broader digital team.
Preferred Skills
- Agency experience or experience managing campaigns across multiple brands, clients, or business types.
- Google Tag Manager experience.
- GA4 or other analytics platform experience.
- Experience using AI tools, software automations, or platform features to improve reporting, insights, workflows, or day-to-day efficiency.
- Experience with lead generation, ticket/event sales, e-commerce, or local market campaigns.
- Familiarity with Basecamp or similar project management tools.
- Experience QAing campaigns before launch.
This Role May Be a Fit If You

- Enjoy the details of campaign setup, QA, tracking, and troubleshooting.
- Are comfortable balancing multiple clients and deadlines.
- Can move quickly without losing accuracy.
- Are proactive when something is unclear or missing.
- Want to grow your platform expertise in a collaborative agency environment.
- Can take feedback, adjust, and keep moving.
This Role May Not Be a Fit If You

- Prefer focusing on one brand, one account, or one project at a time.
- Are uncomfortable with shifting priorities or fast turnaround times.
- Need a highly structured environment where every task is fully defined before starting.
