About the role
This position assists patients in preparation for exams, provides basic instructions, transports patients, greets visitors, schedules appointments, and documents patient information.
Responsibilities
- Assists patient in preparation for exam, provides basic instruction, transports patients, greets visitors, schedules appointments, documents patient information.
- Uses radiology computer systems to generate requisitions, check schedules, and obtain patient information.
- Organizes and prepares exam rooms and work areas, cleans, stocks, orders supplies, maintains equipment.
- Greets patients and visitors, responds to routine requests, answers telephone, screens calls, schedules appointments, takes messages.
- Acts as a liaison between ordering physician, radiologist, and technologist.
- Provides radiology reports and/or radiographic images to staff, physicians, patients, and/or family.
- Fills out required forms/documentation, files, retrieves, and releases health information records and films.
- Compiles film jackets/discs, documents observations, communicates patient needs to physicians and other healthcare team members.
- Completes routine maintenance and quality monitoring of imaging equipment.
- Screens and documents MRI implants based on department need.
Requirements
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) required upon hire unless department leader has determined it is not required.
Qualifications
- GED or HSED, or High School Graduate.
- Competent in IV insertion and venipuncture, based on department need.
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of patients, staff, and physicians.
- Intermediate computer skills including experience in using computer applications/systems and electronic mail.
- Able to follow directions and work well independently and with technologists, physicians, and patients.
Skills
Knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs.

Pay
$18.85 - $28.30
Schedule
Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm with shared on-call responsibilities on the weekends and holidays.
