Essential Functions
- Aids students in locating reference and instructional materials.
- Reinforces reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, media, and other skills.
- Maintains circulation desk operations and circulation files.
- Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning.
- Operates audio visual equipment as needed.
- Catalogs and files learning materials.
- Serves as a reference guide for students.
- Arranges book displays, exhibits, and other items to provide a learning resource environment.
- Aids in the selection and weeding of library materials and resources.
- Aids in the utilization and maintenance of instructional and non-instructional library equipment.
Additional Duties
- Performs any other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Carries out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
- Uses personal computers and instructs students in their use (creating documents, word processing, and using the internet).
- Adds, subtracts, multiplies, divides, and performs complex arithmetic operations.
- Works with a diverse group of individuals.
- Maintains confidentiality of information regarding students, employees, and others.
- Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with students, staff, and others.
- Reports work orally or in writing to supervisor as required.
- Effective writing and communication skills.
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
- Works in standard office and school building environments.
Skills
- Two (2) years of hands-on IT support or technical experience preferred.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Able to multitask and work independently or in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
