About the role

The Digital Innovation Specialist is responsible for leading the integration of technology into teaching and learning across all educational settings. This role involves coaching, training, and developing curriculum integration strategies to help teachers and instructional staff effectively use technology.

Responsibilities

  • Coaching, training, and developing curriculum integration strategies for teachers and instructional staff, including Digital Learning Coaches.
  • Planning, co-teaching, and modeling strategies to integrate technology into teaching and learning.
  • Collaborating with instructional staff and other district-level staff to support the school improvement process.
  • Creating educational materials and guides to help instructional staff effectively use digital resources.
  • Designing and implementing district- and school-based professional learning opportunities for Digital Learning Coaches (DLCs) and other instructional staff.
  • Leading and supporting the DIS Team vision for the integration of educational technology and digital resources.
  • Leading innovation with instructional practices utilizing new and existing digital resources.
  • Modeling and sharing best practices for integrating instructional technology and digital resources into the curricula.
  • Providing guidance for policy considerations with regard to student and staff use of digital resources.
  • Providing guidance for student data privacy and student personally identifiable information (SPII).
  • Leading digital citizenship education across the District.
  • Leading innovation with instructional practices utilizing new and existing digital resources.
  • Supporting implementation of school site plans.
  • Supporting multi-school purchasing/licensing of instructional technology and digital resources.
  • Supporting technology and digital resource grants.
  • Working collaboratively with the Director for Digital Innovation Services and other team members on projects related to the integration of educational technology and digital resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's (Baccalaureate) degree (e.g., B.A., A.B., B.S.)
  • Master's degree (e.g., M.A., M.S., M.Eng, M.Ed, M.S.W., M.B.A., M.L.S.)
  • Teacher License: Initial - Colorado Department of Education
  • 3-5 Years Classroom Teaching Experience

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written, auditory, verbal)
  • Understanding of data privacy laws
  • Vision, problem-solving, and initiative
  • Willingness to seek training and share knowledge
  • Work independently and as directed by supervisors
