ALPA, the largest airline pilot union and non-governmental aviation safety organization, seeks a Digital Content Coordinator for its Memphis, Tennessee office. This role supports the FedEx Master Executive Council’s (MEC) Communications Committee and the Association’s Communications Department by developing and executing digital content strategy, product development, and project coordination to enhance member engagement across digital and print platforms.

About the role

The Digital Content Coordinator advances the MEC’s strategic objectives through digital and print design, content editing, posting, and maintenance of MEC websites, email communications, social media channels, and other ALPA platforms. The role involves amplifying communications on behalf of the MEC, Local Executive Councils (LECs), and MEC-based committees, collaborating with MEC Officers, Communications Committee leadership, IT staff, and colleagues in other offices.

Travel: 5–10%.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute digital content strategy, including continuous improvement of digital communications products, workflows, and member engagement.
  • Design and maintain digital and print materials from concept to execution, including email design, website updates, and social media promotion.
  • Manage project coordination and workflows, exercising independent judgment to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend innovative solutions.
  • Update and maintain content on MEC websites, assist in sending mass emails to members, and support social media promotion.
  • Collaborate with MEC Officers, Communications Committee leadership, IT staff, and other colleagues to advance strategic objectives.
  • Quality control text documents for distribution on web and email platforms.
  • Facilitate project work with vendors and consultants as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in digital content strategy, website development, and/or digital design (five or more years strongly preferred).
  • Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) and controlling page content to communicate goals digitally.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and XD.
  • Experience designing for print and digital media with a proven record of success.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and Responsive Web Design (W3.CSS); familiarity with other markup or programming languages preferred.
  • Experience with email platforms and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and take direction from multiple sources.
  • Experience with audio and video editing software is a plus.
  • Ability to test and troubleshoot software and familiarity with new technologies for enhancing text, photographs, and graphics.
  • Knowledge of labor-related issues preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Constant computer/smartphone/tablet use with acute and discriminating vision (corrected or uncorrected).

  • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, or pulling to move binders, books, boxes, or files up to 10 lbs.
  • While traveling, may need to lift luggage weighing up to 50 lbs (assistance may not always be available).
